近年、世界から抹茶に大きな関心が寄せられています。
夏季展では茶道初心者に向けて、製茶や茶を点てる様子を描いた絵画、棗の工程見本などのほか、お茶を楽しむための茶道具を展示します。
日本文化を代業するもののひとつである茶道について、海外の方も理解を深めることができるよう、日本語と英語でわかりやすく解説します。
For newcomers to chadō—Japan’s “Way of Tea” or, to put it in different terms, “the art of enjoying matcha”—this exhibition presents illustrations of the tea manufacturing process, paintings depicting people engaged in the preparation and serving of matcha, step-by-step models of the crafting of a “natsume” type container for the powdered green tea, and examples of implements used in the art of enjoying matcha. To help enable foreign visitors to deepen their understanding, plain and simple explanations are provided in both Japanese and English. Additionally, workshops and the like will be held by English-speaking instructors, for participants to try their hand at preparing a bowl of matcha, and at milling powdered tea using a tea mill, as well as for them to experience sitting within a traditional style tea room.
